        Women of the Year 2000-2001

            Julia Gibson

A member of FL Preceptor Chi, Tallahassee, Julia Gibson is a Preceptor with her BSP membership beginning in 1965.

Julia has served on the OLB Sunshine Committee and is currently the List Administrator for the chapter. Part of her responsibilities include keeping membership lists accurate; this requires hours of work and concentration as the list is constantly changing.

Julia is always willing to offer assistance and support to her sisters.. She has brought several new members into Beta Sigma Phi and into the chapter. She is a wonderful friend to each of her sisters. Julia serves with dedication and humor. Remember her at the Chicago On Line Convention? She even volunteered to die for us!!!

Julia is described as the personification of the spirit of Beta Sigma Phi and OLB. She is always ready to volunteer when there are on line chores to be done.

She is also active in the OLB Stampers Group.

            Alice White

A member of Beta Sigma Phi since November 1998, Alice holds the Ritual of Jewels Degree in Arizona Preceptor Alpha Kappa, Phoenix.

Relatively new to BSP, Alice joined because of meeting a BSP on line. She hit the ground running and has never stopped reaching out to her sisters and their families in ever more imaginative ways. She knows no strangers; she is a friend to one and all.

Alice has met traveling BSP's at the airport and, on one occasion, took a week off from work to house and support a sister who was traveling with a severely ill husband.

Alice offers support, comfort and humor to her sisters. She sends cards and makes phone calls -- just because she loves her sisters. Alice is our Confetti Queen; those colorful foil dodads in the cards she sends.

She willingly volunteers for chapter responsibilities and has made it a special point to greet new members.

Alice has made donations to the Humane Society, as a means of comfort to sisters who have lost pets.

Although unable to attend the Chicago Convention, Alice sent gifts for all her online sisters' ditty bags as well as ten door prizes. She also sent three western bears for the bear exchange.

A yellow rose means gladness, joy and friendship. A pink rose means grace, admiration and thank-you.
