Barbara wrote this and gave it to me in February. This was to be read in church. Barbara requested only happy songs at her funeral as she wanted that to be a celebration of her life and not a sad occasion. Her pallbearers were to be her sorority sisters and each were to carry a yellow rose. The yellow rose is the symbol of Beta Sigma Phi. The rose you see on the background border is known as the Yellow Rose of Texas.
The midi playing "Thank You Lord" was a song that Barb sang to herself in her last months.

Rex, I didn't want to go because I have felt that you and Donovan need me so much. God did not give me a choice and I feel that He has something better for you just around the corner. All of my life, if God closed a door on me, it is because He had a better door to open somewhere else, and I know that this applies to you also. Love Donovan with all your heart and God will show you the way to go. Remember, God is only a prayer away. Don needs you more than ever right now and I know that you will follow through and will be there for him.
Just focus on how good God has been to us and how He has watched over us in every move that we have made. God has always been there to help us make the right decisions in our lives. The only thing you have to do is to remember to pray for God to help you and help is right around the corner. Think back over our lives together and all the things that we had prayed about and God took over and did not necessarially answer our direct prayer, He directed our prayer and answered it in a better way than we had asked for. Now, that is what I call 'really' answering prayer. God knew what we really needed better than we did. He even knew we would like it better.
God has been so good and He will remain close to you and Donovan. I plan to be there and remind God that you are there and need His help. I pray that God will let my spirit remain close to you in case you need me.
Robin and Kelly love you also, as do the other Grandchildren. Remember to hold them close and give them all your love in return.
Girls, stay close to Rex and to each other. You can help each other so much. Just let God guide you as He is the best and knows the way.
